NTMA Recognises Morgan Stanley as a Primary Dealer in Irish Government bonds

4 October 2012 - The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) is pleased to announce that it recognises Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc as a Primary Dealer in Irish Government bonds. The NTMA believes that the Irish Government bond and bill market will benefit significantly from the strong presence which Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc has in other European sovereign bond markets as a Primary Dealer at a time when Ireland continues to re-build full access to the capital markets.

Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc is already an active participant in the Irish Government bond market and the NTMA expects that its joining the Primary Dealer group will add to the depth and liquidity of the market and further enhance the profile of Irish Government bonds for investors.

The recognition of Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc brings the number of Primary Dealers to seventeen:

  • Barclays Capital, London
  • BNP Paribas, London
  • Credit Agricole CIB London
  • Citigroup Global Markets, London
  • Danske Bank, Copenhagen
