9 May 2022 – The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) announces that it will hold a bond auction on Thursday, 12th May 2022. There will be two bonds offered in the auction.

The details of the May auction are as follows:

Bonds to be auctioned:

0.35% Treasury Bond 2032 and

2.0% Treasury Bond 2045

Auction size:

€1,000 to €1,250 million

Auction opens:

8:00 a.m.

Auction closes:

10:00 a.m.

Settlement Date:

16th May 2022

The auction will be conducted on the Bloomberg Auction System and will be confined to recognised Primary Dealers.

A non-competitive auction for 15 per cent of the amount sold in the competitive auction will immediately follow and will close at 10:00 a.m. on Monday 16th May 2022.

The bond auction previously scheduled for Thursday 9th June has been cancelled.

This is due to the strong fiscal performance so far this year and the lower Exchequer Borrowing Requirement estimate for 2022, as set out in the recently published Stability Programme Update (SPU).

Note: Details for the remaining Treasury Bill auctions for the quarter, remained unchanged.
